5 common questions answered
NHTSA’s three recalls address distinct safety concerns. A regulatory-compliance issue may increase the risk of a crash, fire, or injury. A missing brake pedal pivot-pin securing clip could allow the pedal to dislodge, potentially preventing the driver from applying the brakes. On affected Touareg Hybrid vehicles, inadequate battery-tray drainage could allow water to collect and create an electrical short in the high-voltage battery, increasing fire risk. Waiting to confirm an open recall can leave a known safety concern unresolved. A free VIN check helps determine whether your vehicle needs immediate manufacturer-directed attention.
