5 common questions answered
The six NHTSA campaigns involve risks that should not be ignored. Over-cured Continental tires may lose air or shed tread, while a fuel-tank defect may cause a leak, fire risk, or engine stall. Headlight aim may move out of specification and reduce visibility. An incorrect side-impact air bag may not deploy as intended, and a fractured rear coil spring could damage a tire. A missing ignition-key warning may raise theft or crash risk. Waiting can leave a known safety concern unresolved, so arrange a VIN check promptly if you have received a notice or are unsure about prior recall work.
