Went for an oil change, but my check engine light was also on. Found out my warranty had expired two days ago. Service consultant wasn’t helpful at all and said to diagnose the cause of the check engine light would take 2-3 days and he had a stack of papers he showed me of people being ahead of me. Normally the check engine diagnostic would have been covered, but my warranty had expired 2 days ago! Mind you, I purchased the Taos in November 2022. Someone else explained the 4 year warranty starts at the date of delivery, which was June 2021! No flexibility in this date. I spoke with another 2022 Taos owner in the wait area, she stated her warranty was extended to 5 years by Volkswagen. She also showed me an app, which I was totally unaware of, never been told. The service department sucks, wait times are weeks. I’ve had so many issues with my Taos, and many more to come it seems. The check engine light was checked the next day at Aamco, for FREE. This would have costed $175 and 3 days without my car at Larry Miller.

My wife and I decided to chase the new Avocado Green Pearl Atlas SEL Premium R-Line and LHM VW in Avondale was the only dealer with one currently in stock in the entire Phx market. We swung out there on a Friday, promptly greeted by Andres who had all the answers to our questions and let us check out all the colors (both int and ext) as well as the 2nd row configurations. After a short test drive, we started to negotiate. Had a great time dealing with Andres and the GSM Oscar, just good transparent people. I got exactly what I wanted on the trade and worked out the details on the new lease quickly. And shoutout to Ed in Finance, good dude who got me in and out quickly while we chopped it up about west coast geography and cars. Oh, and the paperwork is all electronic, love it. So if you are in the market for a new VW or any used vehicle LHM VW in Avondale may have, give my guy Andres Mendes a shout, you will not be disappointed.
